Bowtie Taco Pasta

32

This delicious casserole-like dish is quick and easy to make, and will please both the Mexican food and Italian food lovers! The tri-colored pasta adds an extra boost to the appearance of the meal.

10
2 lb lean ground beef
1 box Tri-colored Bowtie pasta
1/2 white onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can diced tomatoes
1 packet taco seasoning (I used mild)
4 ounces cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
Boil water and cook bowtie pasta according to package directions. Only drain half of the water once pasta is cooked. Set aside pasta in remaining water. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion. Once brown, stir in tomatoes, garlic and taco seasoning, until mixed well. Continue to cook on medium high heat for several minutes to allow flavors to combine. Add the pasta (including the water), cream cheese and sour cream. Stir well and cook on stovetop until cream cheese is melted, about 3 minutes. For a more creamy sauce, add more cream cheese and sour cream to your liking. For a thicker sauce, continue to cook for several more minutes, until it's a consistency of your liking. Note: my friends added habanero sauce because for extra spice. I added extra sour cream to mine because I prefer a creamier, tamer meal. Also, the photo has some penne pasta because I only had half a box of bowtie pasta available. Optional: add cilantro or chives to your dish for extra flavor
