Chili Verde with White Beans (Green Chili)

This green chili is packed with the fresh flavors of tomatillos, peppers, onions, cilantro and lime, and filled out with creamy great northern beans. It's a great contrast to classic brown and red chilis. It's perfect for St. Patty's day too!

1 lb tomatillos, husks removed and washed
3-4 cloves garlic, unpeeled
1 small yellow or white onion, peeled and quartered
1/2-1 jalapeno pepper, seeds and membranes removed and cut in half lengthwise
1 green bell pepper, seeds and membranes removed and cut into several pieces
1 TBS canola oil
2 TBS butter
1/4 cup flour
4 cups chicken broth
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/2 cup roughly chopped cilantro
juice of 1/2 a large lime
4 cups of cooked great northern beans, or 2 cans
2 cups cooked chicken, diced or shredded
