Cream of Broccoli Soup

Who doesn't love cream of broccoli soup? I know I do, this recipe has been around in our house a long time and we love it.

1 bunch broccoli
1 potato, peeled
1 onion, chopped
1 cup water
2 Tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
13 3/4 ounces can of chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup half and half cream
Trim broccoli, separate flowerettes, cut stems into 1/2 inch slices. Cut potatoes into 1/2 inch cubes. Saute onion with butter in kettle until tender. Add curry powder, chicken broth, water and salt. Bring to a boil and add the broccoli and potatoes. Simmer until tender. Puree the mixture in a blender, then reheat over low heat. Stir in half and half. Serve.
