Easy Layered Beef Casserole

3 cups egg noodles
1.5 lbs ground beef
3/4 c chopped onion
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
3 tbsp Parmesan
15 oz tomato sauce
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
8 oz sour cream (light)
8 oz cream cheese (light), softened
2 green onions, chopped
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Cook noodles according to package directions. Brown beef, onion, garlic and red pepper flakes; drain. Stir in Parmesan. Add tomato sauce and sugar; bring to a boil. Simmer for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper halfway through. Transfer meat to a greased baking dish. Mix together sour cream and cream cheese until smooth, add in green onions and stir to combine. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the ground beef. Top with cooked noodles and cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
