Pastitsio is definitely the ultimate temptation. It consists of three irresistible layers. Pasta, roasted minced beef in tomato sauce and a thick coat of velvet, creamy béchamel. All of them come together and end up in the oven baking until béchamel forms a golden brown crust. Divine pleasure.

750 gr pasta (pastitsio pasta or penne)
2 tablespoons butter
Parmesan

MEAT SAUCE

800gr lean minced beef
3 red onions
1 clove garlic
1 ½ teaspoons nutmeg
½ cinnamon stick
3 cloves
1 chicken bouillon cube or chicken broth
3 tablespoons tomato paste
Olive oil
Salt
Pepper

BECHAMEL

2lt milk
16 full tablespoons flour
250gr butter
4 eggs
1 teaspoons nutmeg
½ teaspoon cinnamon
