My youngest son got this recipe from one of his elementary school teachers many years ago. Our family loves anything pumpkin so we make recipes like this year round. Who ever decided that pumpkin was a fall thing??

1 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup pumpkin
3/4 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped nuts, optional
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup pumpkin
3/4 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped nuts, optional
Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add pumpkin and mix well. Mix dry ingredients and spice and salt together. Then add to pumpkin mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and add nuts. Grease and flour a loaf pan. Pour in batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 60 minutes.
