Healthier Granola Bars

I adapted this recipe from the web several years ago when I was looking for a tasty granola bar recipe with some nutritional side benefits. Everyone loves these bars and many friends have asked for the recipe. Better yet, they’re great to make with toddlers or when you’re pressed for time, since you need only press them flat on a pan to bake.

2 cups rolled oats

½ cup brown sugar

¼ cup ground flax (or whole flax for a crunchier texture)

1 tsp cinnamon

1 cup whole wheat flour

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup raisins

½ cup chocolate chips

½ cup honey

1 egg (beaten)
½ cup vegetable oil

2 tsp vanilla
