Hearty White Chili with Chicken

This White Chili with Chicken is seriously delicious. White beans, chicken, green chilies and corn...mmmm....mmmm...good. It's hearty and filling, mildly spicy, flavorful, and hit-the-spot tasty.

3 T. olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
2 t. chili powder
1 1/2 t. cumin
1 t. oregano
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (15-ounce) cans white kidney or navy beans, drained and rinsed (I used one can Navy and one can Cannelli)
3 to 4 cups diced cooked chicken
1 c. frozen, fresh, or canned corn kernels
1 (7-ounce) can diced green chilies
3 cups chicken broth, plus more for thinning if desired
1/4 t. salt
2 T. butter, softened
1 1/2 T. flour
Pepper
Grated Cheddar or Monterey Jack for topping (optional)
