Mussels in a Garlic and Lemon Broth

For all you seafood lovers, this mussels recipe does not disappoint!! It's cooked with lots of fresh, delicious garlic and paired with lemon and white wine! A perfect appetizer or main dish for a dinner party or just a regular Saturday night spent with a loved one!

2 lbs fresh mussels, cleaned and debearded
2 tbsps. butter (divided)
6-8 large cloves fresh garlic, chopped
1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
2 cups white wine
juice and zest of 1 lemon
3/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
salt, to taste
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes, or to taste
