1.5 medium onions, sliced thinly
9 cloves of garlic, sliced thinly
1/2-3/4 tsp red pepper flakes
2 sprigs basil, plus torn leaves for garnish
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
