Quick & Easy Two-Bean Chili

A savory yet extremely simple meatless chili just perfect for a cold winter's day! Browned ground beef or browned ground turkey would make an excellent addition if you wanted to add a bit more protein. YUM!

1 large yellow onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 teaspoon canola oil
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
2 cans red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
2 cans Great Northern Beans, drained and rinsed
2 14oz. cans cut-up tomatoes with juice
2 8oz. cans tomato sauce
Sour cream
Shredded cheese

In a large soup pot, saute onion and green pepper in the canola oil until onion is translucent and soft and green pepper is tender.
Add all of the remaining ingredients to the pot and bring just to a boil...
