Skillet Chicken in White Wine Cream Sauce

A delicious skillet meal that is elegant and easy!

2-3 Tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 medium onion , chopped
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 red bell pepper sliced into strips
4 skinless , boneless chicken breasts
1/2 pound bacon cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup white wine ( I use Chardonnay )
3/4 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon garlic powder , more or less as you wish
Salt and pepper to taste
1. Heat oil in heavy skillet over medi heat , and sauté onion , mushrooms, and red pepper until tender and onions are translucent . Remove from skillet and set aside. 2. Heat remaining oil in skillet over medium heat, and cook chicken until juices run clear. Add wine and simmer till slightly reduced. 3. Return onion and red pepper mixture to skillet. 4. Add cooked bacon and stir heavy cream into skillet, season to taste with salt, pepper, and garlic. Serve over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
