Slow Cooker Lentil Chili

Let your slow cooker do all the work with this smoky spin on chili.

1lb lean ground turkey
2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup dry green lentils
1 medium onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 large carrots, diced
1 large red bell pepper, diced
1 small chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, chopped and seeds removed
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon each of ground cumin, ground coriander, dry oregano
1 (15oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 (15oz) can diced
2 cups low sodium chicken broth
1 (15oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (15oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
Salt and pepper to taste

Heat olive oil in skillet over medium heat. Season ground turkey with salt and pepper and cook in pan until browned
Add cooked ground turkey to 6 quart slow cooker.
