Spiced Apple-Peach Crisp

A comforting dessert that will help get you in the mood for cooler weathers. The deep dark flavor comes out with the welcome addition of Whiskey. Or you could leave it out for a perfectly spiced treat for the whole family. Don't forget the scoop of vanilla... like I did!

For Fruit Mixture
5 cups peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
2 apples, sliced and cored
1/2 cup Whiskey (can be substituted with water) - I used Black Velvet Canadian Whiskey
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon clove
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
For Crisp Topping
6 Tablespoons butter, cold - cut into cubes
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
dash clove
dash nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
To peel peaches easily and quickly, you will want to make a small 'X' cut into the bottom of each peach. Boil a large pot of water and carefully place peaches into the water....
