I got this recipe from my Mom. It’s quick, easy and goes great with a tall glass of milk. Just something about Oriental food that makes me want to have milk., perhaps it’s to offset the saltiness.

1 pound sirloin steak sliced thin in 1" strips
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 can bamboo shoots drained
8 green onions sliced
1 medium onion halved, sliced
1 can bean sprouts drained
1 can water chestnuts sliced, drained
1/2 cup mushrooms sliced
1/2 cup soy sauce
2/3 cup warm water
3 tablespoons sugar granulated
1 bag chow mein noodles
black pepper to taste
