Sweet and Sour Meatballs
1
This is one of those recipes that I love because I usually have everything on hand AND my whole family loves it! I included the recipe that I use to make the meatballs, but frozen, store-bought meatballs work just as well.
4
For the meatballs:
1 lb ground beef
1 egg
1 tsp worchestershire sauce
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/3-1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
2 T grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp beef bouillon
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
dash of Tabasco sauce
For the sauce:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 tsp mustard
1/4 cup bbq sauce
1 tsp worchestershire sauce
1 lb ground beef
1 egg
1 tsp worchestershire sauce
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/3-1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
2 T grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp beef bouillon
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
dash of Tabasco sauce
For the sauce:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 tsp mustard
1/4 cup bbq sauce
1 tsp worchestershire sauce
Mix all meatball ingredients together (I know it's gross, but I use my hands to mix it - it just works better!). Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls by rolling in your hands. Place meatballs on a foil-lined cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
While the meatballs are cooking, combine all sauce ingredients in a saucepan (the size of saucepan you will use depends on how many meatballs you want to add to it).* Add meatballs and cook until heated through. Serve over rice or noodles.
*When I make these meatballs, I freeze whatever I don't use that day. Then I can use them later for this recipe or meatball sandwiches or spaghetti.
