This delicious chocolate cake is very famous in the Piedmont region of Italy where the original recipe is a big secret and patented. Our version of the Torta 900 is simple and as delicious as the original one! The base of the cake is a simple chocolate sponge cake but it's the chocolate cream that makes this cake so good.

For the chocolate cake, you will need:
5 eggs
150 g sugar
90 g flour
30 g cornstarch
30 g cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 Tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla pinch of salt

For the chocolate cream, you will need:
300 ml whole milk
120 g sugar
3 egg yolks
30 g flour
120 g dark chocolate (I prefer 70% cocoa)
150 g butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 deg. F Put the eggs, sugar and a pinch of salt in the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat on high for 10 minutes, then add honey and vanilla. Continue beating for another 10 minutes...

Marinated Taro Root

A marinated snack that can be used to replace late night bad habit cravings!

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
