Zucchini and Onion Fritters

Deep-fried Indian-style chick-pea fritters, served with chutneys, tomato ketchup or yoghurt . Crispy, delicious appetizer serves as a great snack too.

1 cup chickpea (gram) flour.
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 long and thinly sliced onions
Salt, to taste
1 tbsp Finely chopped cilantro
1 medium zucchini
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
water as required to make a thick batter
vegetable oil for deep frying.
1. In a medium bowl, take thick sliced zucchini and long cut onions. 2. Sift the gram flour into the same bowl. 3. Add in red chilli powder, garlic, salt, cumin seeds and cilantro to it. mix all ingredients with a fork or spoon. 4. Now start adding water bit by bit and whisk to get a smooth thick batter (almost like pancake batter). 5. Cover and allow the mixture to stand for ½ hour.If the batter is still thick then add some more water 6. heat oil in a deep saucepan or wok over medium high heat . 7.when the oil become medium hot, drop each scoop with a spoon of the batter in the oil. add in few more scoops . 8. fry them until golden brown, use fork to turn them . 9.Remove from the oil and drain them on a kitchen towel. Serve hot with ketchup.
