Growing a garden full of fresh veggies is such a rewarding summertime hobby. While I love eating fresh veggies every day, the thing I long for all winter long, finally becomes possible in these warm summer months. The ever so delicate zucchini blossom. You can serve them a number of different ways but the way I grew up on them was to lightly batter them and fry them. So delicious. Certainly not filling enough for a meal, but we make them mid day and snack on them through the afternoon.

10-12 zucchini blossoms (flowers)
2 egg yolks
1 C very cold water
1 C flour (all purpose)
canola or vegetable oil (about an inch, amount depends on type of pan)
4-5 fresh basil leaves, sliced thinly
