Thick, buttery cornbread croutons made even more delicious and hearty with the addition of bacon.

1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup milk (I used almond milk)
1 egg
1/2 cup creamed corn (I used canned)
1 piece of bacon, cooked and diced
2 tablespoons light butter
