This Best Lasagna Recipe has taken years to perfect! It is ridiculously rich, meaty, gooey, cheesy and makes the perfect comfort food!

1 pound hot Italian sausage
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
5 garlic cloves, minced
½ teaspoon salt
1 (14.5 oz) can petite-diced tomatoes
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce
1½ tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
12 lasagna noodles (I use the no-boil version)
15 oz ricotta cheese
1 egg, slightly beaten
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 pound mozzarella cheese, grated
¾ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
