Brown Rice

Brown rice is an unmilled rice with the nutrients still intact. Brown rice has a nutty flavour and a chewy texture which differs from a fully milled white rice.

1 cup brown rice, short grain
1 cup low sodium chicken broth, (I use pacific organic low sodium chicken broth)
1 3/4 cups water
1 tbs butter, (optional)
1tsp salt
1. Bring rice, water, salt, and 1 tbs of butter (optional) to a boil. Cover, and reduce heat to simmer. 2. Cook for 50 minutes (do not disturb). 3. Let the rice sit for 10 minutes. 4. Fluff and enjoy!!
