Chinese Manchow Soup by Neharika

182

Manchow soup is a soup popular in Indian Chinese cuisine due to its ease of preparation and hot spicy taste. It is available in large restaurants and street food carts alike. It is a dark brown soup prepared with various vegetables, scallions, and chicken (in the non-vegetarian version only), thickened with stock and corn flour, and flavored with relatively generous doses of soy sauce, salt, garlic and chili peppers. It may also be garnished with chopped scallions.

4
1/2 cup carrot finely chopped

1/2 cup cabbage (shredded)

1/4 cup spring onions finely chopped
1 tsp. ginger garlic paste
2 tsp. green chilli sauce
1 tbsp. soya sauce
2 tbsp. tomato sauce
1 tbsp. oil
2 tbsp. corn flour
1/2 tsp. black pepper powder
salt to taste
Heat oil in a pan and saute all the vegetables. Mix salt in it and stir for 2 mins. Then close the lid and let it cook for 5 minutes. Now open the lid and mix black pepper, ginger garlic paste and sauces and mix well. Now mix corn flour in 2 cups of water and add to the vegetables. Stir it until the soup thickens. Manchow soup is ready. Serve hot with fried crispy noodles.
