This Incredible Split Pea Soup has a rich, creamy texture, it's perfectly seasoned with the right combination of vegetables and pieces of tasty ham, making it well, incredible!

1 Ham Bone
3 quarts water (12 cups)
1 pound package green split peas
5 teaspoons beef or chicken bouillon paste or 5 bouillon cubes
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup celery, chopped
1 cup carrots, sliced or shredded
1 teaspoon each garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
5 bay leaves
1 cup chopped ham (from the ham bone)
1/2 tablespoon liquid smoke (optional)
