Open-Faced Caprese Lasagna

If you've never tried an open faced lasagna recipe before, don't worry, it's basically a lasagna but the stuffing stays on top instead of the pasta and sauce. Caprese is one of our favorite Italian flavor combinations. We've made Caprese salads, Caprese sandwiches, Caprese pizzas and calzones, even Caprese pasta as a quick toss together dinner. Since it seems to work so well in each of these meals we figured why not attempt a Caprese lasagna. The results did not disappoint.

Olive oil
1 cup of basil leaves
1 cup of quartered cherry tomatoes
1 cup of fresh buffalo mozzarella chopped
9 al dente cooked lasagna noodles
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
