A traditional Filipino dessert or even as a snack or 'merienda', -'Minatamis na Saging' directly translate to 'sweetened bananas' that uses Plantain bananas.

4-5 pcs. plantain banana(Saging na Saba), each one cut into 3 parts diagonally
1 cup brown sugar
1½ cup water
1 tsp vanilla extract-optional
¼ tsp salt
1 cup cooked tapioca pearls (sago)- optional
1 can evaporated milk -optional
