I continue to enjoy playing with my solar oven. Today I wanted something easy so I had soup and fresh, hot rolls. It was my first time baking bread in my oven but it certainly will not be my last. I love it, baking bread in the back yard!

Few things are better outside than breakfast. My neighbor Cindy recently posted a link to something that is easy to prepare and – Oh My – so very good (I made minor modifications). These bowls are simple to throw together and everyone can customize their own. So become a outdoor short-order chef and individualize these tasty little bowls for your family. The hard roll gets flakey, crispy texture – almost like a Croissant! The only thing holding you back is your imagination.
Eggs ( beaten about 2 per person )
Bacon, Sausage or Ham – cooked
Onion, Red or Green Peppers – chopped
Mushrooms, Spinach – chopped
Cheddar, Pepper Jack or Swiss Cheese – grated or sliced.

I am starting to get excited about my solar oven. Think of it, cooking with nothing but the sun. My house stays cooler and I just set it out in the back yard and keep working until lunch is ready. I would really like to cook in my solar oven 3 – 4 times a week for lunch. So I decided to try pork chops in gravy for a quick and easy lunch. They turned out really, really good

Cooking in a solar oven is so easy and fun. My daughter came over and we whipped up some banana scones for lunch. They baked up beautifully. Such a wonderful snack to share together, warm, moist, yummy banana scones with a cardamom kick. These were almost the texture of a short bread, I think you will like them.

I have cooked in a lot of different pots and pans over the years, but for Christmas I got adventurous and bought my wife a solar oven. I was amazed that in February on a 43 degree day I could heat my oven up to 325 degrees. This summer I look forward to cooking in the back yard in my solar oven and never having to heat-up my kitchen. As I look through cookbooks and see something I like, my first thought is \"I can cook that outdoors!
