Tikka's Potatoes

My family members are serious of J.R.R. Tolken fans... In one of the Lord of the Rings books, I guess there is an inn-keeper named Tikka (I don't actually remember this part - I am going off of what my mom recalls) who makes phenomenal roasted or fried potatoes. Inspired by this, my mom roasted some potatoes in her cast-iron pan, and then blackened them in the oven. They were the most awesome potatoes ever!

4 medium potatoes (baked or microwaved)
3 TBS olive oil
1 TBS garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
salt to taste
