Traditional Stuffing with Zing

Stuffing for a turkey thats easy, traditional and nutritious with a little extra something. Satisfies Stovetop fans, homemade stuffing lovers and those that love something new. Vegetables, apples and mushrooms abound with a slight zing as an undertone.

2 boxes Stovetop turkey or chicken stuffing
margerine or butter for the stuffing, about 1 cup
1 large or 2 small apples
2 stalks chopped celery
1 large chopped onion
1 small-medium package of mushrooms, sliced
3-5 oz. minced sausage-country, smoked, italian or bratwurst
1 tbsp hot sauce
1 tbsp ranch dressing
Begin bringing the water needed to a boil in an over-sized pan, according to the package directions. Chop onions, celery and apple. Slice mushrooms, mince sausage. Finish preparing the stuffing according to the directions. Drizzle hot sauce and ranch dressing over stuffing and add the vegetables, mushrooms, sausage and apples; stir very well. Bake at 350 covered 3 hours or stuff your chicken or turkey; for left over stuffing, loosen the skin with a knife and stuff under the skin. Follow the directions per pound for your stuffed birds, add a little extra time if you also stuffed the skin.
