Almond Oat Beet Burgers
32
Vegan alternative for a filling burger.
2
1/4 cup finely chopped beetroot
1/2 cup cooked oatmeal
1/4 cup almonds
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 cup cooked oatmeal
1/4 cup almonds
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Put all the ingredients into a food processor and blend until a dough is formed.
Divide the dough into 4 equal portions; shape into patties and put on a lightly oiled baking dish.
Bake for about 25 minutes. The key is to heat through the inside and make the outside a little crispy.
Serve with lettuce, tomato, and your favorite seasoning, or put inside sandwich.
Here I garnished with a slice of lemon for each burger and some watercress sauce (blend together 1/2 cup watercress and 1 tablespoon of orange juice).
Note: The smaller the burgers are, the shorter time it takes to bake them.
