Grandmas Strawberry Jam

My grandma\\\'s strawberry jam recipe, very sweet, great flavor, and just plain amazing!

1 quart of Strawberries, tops removed and sliced
1/2 lemon, juiced
4 cups sugar
1/4 tsp butter
1 pinch of salt
Sterilized Mason Jars and Lids – Makes 6 – 8 oz Ball Mason Jars
Add all of the ingredients to medium saucepan and cook over medium-high heat. Boil for 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally. Boil an additional 1 minute, without stirring. Boil an additional 1 minute, with constant stiring. Pull from heat and put the jam in the sterilized mason jars. I purchased a canning funnel, which makes filling jars a lot easier. Also, I would recommend filling jars in the sink. The jam could stain, so be careful! Put lids and rings on jars and add to hot water bath. Leave jars in hot water bath for 10 minutes. Carefully remove jars from hot water bath, ensure rings are tight, and lids have sealed.
