Greek Salad (Horiatiki Salada)

We use the Greek name “Horiatiki Salada”, meaning “village salad”, to distinguish the traditional Greek salad with its popular American variation. The traditional version has neither lattice nor mayonnaise like dressing. The Feta cheese is not in cubes as commonly in restaurants – it is in whole and broken into pieces just on serving. Regardless of the variations, this dish is always colourful and full of sweetness from natural ingredients!

4 oz. tomato
4 oz. cucumber
1 oz. round green pepper
1 oz. onion
1/4 oz. pickled black olive
2 oz. Feta cheese (Greek cheese made from sheep milk)
1 T. olive oil
2 T. vinegar
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
To taste salt
