A simple homemade syrup for pancakes and waffles that is easily adapted to any flavor you wish.

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp. mapleine
1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp. mapleine
Combine sugars and water in a medium saucepan. Keep an eye on it; if you forget about it, it will boil over quickly. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally....
