Jeera rice is one of the easy and flavorful rice prepared in India and can be served with any kind of curry ,whether it is vegetarian or non vegetarian. Over the time, many variations are being done with this recipe. Some people prefer to add some whole spices like cloves, pepper in it while some people just love it plain. I have added mint leaves in my Jeera Rice for extra flavor.

1 1/2 cup Basmati rice/long grain rice
2 Teaspoons Jeera /Cumin seeds
1 Tablespoon Ghee / Clarified Butter
2 Bay leaves
3-4 Green Chilies(chopped fine)
Few chopped Pudina / Mint(Optional)
3 cups water

Method:
Wash and soak rice for about 30 minutes.
Heat ghee in a big saucepan and add cumin seeds. Let them crackle on medium heat.
