We all have comforting foods growing up. You know, whether it be meatloaf, pot pie or a certain chicken dish that your mom made? Well my mom made Pepper Steak that I just always loved and looked forward to eating. It’s not the usual type of Pepper Steak that you will find in the Chinese restaurants that are stir fried. Nope, this type is totally different but totally delicious as well. This kind takes about 3 hours on top of the stove but it’s well worth the wait as the meat is so delicious and

2 lbs. Chuck steak cut into one inch cubes
2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce, plus 2 cans water
2 large onions, sliced into thin rings
4 large red and green bell peppers, cut into 1 inch pieces (or any color peppers you have on hand)
? cup garlic powder
3-4 tbsp. onion powder
2 bay leaves
Salt and pepper, to taste

Homemade Multigrain Bread

The combination of all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour make for a soft, delicious multigrain bread perfect for sandwiches. Once you start making your own bread at home, you may never go to the grocery store bread aisle again. This is a delicious sandwich bread that the whole family will enjoy. Soft like white bread, but with the added benefits of whole wheat flour. Allow your baked loaves to cool before slicing. You can store the extra loaf tightly wrapped in the refrigerator for up to a week, or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

2 cups milk
1 cup old fashioned oats
2/3 cup brown sugar
5 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons active dry yeast
2 eggs
1/2 cup wheat germ
3 cups whole wheat flour
3 cups all purpose flour
extra butter
1 tablespoons oats
