1 C. Dried Black Beans ( Canned beans could also be used )
1 tsp. salt (for cooking)
1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp. Ground Cumin
1 tsp. Chili Powedr
1 - 1 1/2 tsp. Honey (You could also use Sugar, Stevia, Agave nectar or any other sweetener of your choice)
Juice of 1/2 a Lime
Chopped Tomato, Green Onion and/or chopped Cilantro for Garnish (optional)
1 tsp. salt (for cooking)

Rinse beans.
Place in medium size saucepan and add enough cold water so that it's about 2 inches above the beans. Let soak 6 -8 hours or leave sit overnight.
Drain beans. Return to saucepan and again add enough cold water so that it's about 2 inches above the beans, and add 1 tsp. salt.
Bring water to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 45 - 60 minutes, until beans are tender.
Drain away most of any remaining liquid.
Add remaining ingredients and coook on low for a few more minutes.
Garnish with chopped fresh tomato and chopped cilantro.
