We make delicious breakfast smoothies every morning, and with the cost of store-bought rice milk (lactose intolerance abounds in this family), and with not being able to buy it in larger than one liter boxes, we decided to search for a cost-effective alternative. Making your own is SO simple! We don't often drink this straight...although you could with the addition of a little brown sugar or honey to taste. 1 cup cooked brown rice (cook according to package)
8 cups water

Fill blender with 8 cups water. (Do this in half-batches if your blender doesn't hold that much. Alternatively, you could use a food-processor).
Drop in the rice, and blend the heck out of it for several minutes until the rice is gone and the liquid is no longer grainy. Store in sealed container in the refrigerator.
Note: Rice milk will separate when stored, so shake well before using.
