Healthy Homemade Honey Fruit and Nut Granola

157

An easy to make healthy granola with no processed sugar or unhealthy fats. Can adjust fruit and nuts according to your desire or what you have on hand. My favorite combo to add is walnuts, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, craisins and dried apricots.

8
1 cup honey
1/3 cup canola oil
1/4 tsp salt
5-6 cups rolled oats
2 cups chopped nuts (your choice)
1 cup seeds (any combo of your choosing)
2-3 cups dried fruit
1/2 cup ground flax seed
In a small saucepan heat honey, oil, and salt over low heat. Meanwhile combine oats, nuts, and seeds in large bowl. Drizzle warmed honey mixture over oats mixture. Spread on to 2 baking sheets lightly sprayed with cooking oil. With rack on bottom and middle bake at 350 degrees for 15 mins. Stir, rotate pans middle to bottom and bake every 5 minutes (10-18 minutes) until golden brown. Cool then add in dried fruit and flax . Store in nice sealed container in cool dry place. This granola has no preservatives unlike store bought granola so it will need to be enjoyed in next 2 weeks!
