Lola is a traditional sweet from the Kutch region of Gujarat. This sweet is made from whole wheat flour, poppy seeds, eggs, ghee and sugar. Its a very simple and easy recipe and the best part is you can even store these in an airtight container for up to a month. So you are never out of quick but healthy snack. And kids love these too. This is a very special dish to me and has lots of childhood memories associated with it. Even today when my mom visits she makes sure she packs a big bundle of

Wheat flour - 500 grams
Sugar - 500 grams
Poppy seeds (Khus khus) - 100 grams
Egg - 1 no:
Milk - 1/2 cup
Baking soda - a pinch
Cashew nuts - 10 - 15 no:s
Ghee - 2 tablespoons

Marinated Taro Root

A marinated snack that can be used to replace late night bad habit cravings!

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
