Nadan Chicken Fry - The Keralite Way

The Spicy and tasty Kerala chicken fry is just superb. The smell of the deep fried chicken from the roadside vendors will stay even if you have passed miles. Chicken fry or Kozhi Varuthathu ( in malayalam) is soft inside, crispy outside and will be cooked perfect and the curry leaves fried along with it gives a special taste. The use of coconut oil for frying gives an edge to the fried chicken.

Chicken Pieces - 200 gms ( I have used boneless ones)
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Shallots - 12 - 15 ( chopped)
Ginger - 1 teaspoon ( minced)
Curry leaves - few
Red chilly powder - 3 teaspoon
Cumin seed - 2 teaspoon
Garam Masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - to taste
Coconut oil - 2-3 tablespoon
