How I love hazelnuts! They are so decadent and sweet. Their little round shape makes me smile. And just the other day I had been dreaming about the smell of orange and clove. I had stumbled upon blood oranges at wholefoods and thought, what would be better than to make a blood orange clove hazelnut spread?! You can make it one of two ways: I didn’t make a butter out of the hazelnuts and I presoaked them, but feel free to throw them in the food processor out of the bag and even blend them more

1 1/2 cups organic raw hazelnuts
2/3 cup organic almond butter
1/2 cup organic tahini butter
1 blood orange
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp clove
1 tsp organic mace
1/2 cup pure maple syrup (grade B)
3 tablespoons coconut oil (melted)
