Grandma Long's Cranberry Salad

My grandmother was a very good cook, well, wasn't everyone's? When I was young I didn't appreciate this recipe, now that I am older, and she is gone, I truly appreciate this recipe.

1/2 cup walnuts
1 pint raw cranberries
1 apple
1 3/4 cup sugar
juice of one orange
Grind together the walnuts, cranberries and apple. Add the sugar and orange juice.
