My Mom's Dill Pickles

My mother's pickles ruined my taste for store bought pickles. They never come close to the taste of hers.

2 quarts water
1 cup Kosher salt
cucumbers
1 0r 2 fresh dill heads per jar
garlic cloves, peeled 3 per jar
dill seed, 3 to 5 Tablespoons in each quart
vinegar, 1 cup to each 2 cups of salt water
Bring water and salt to a boil and then cool. Wash and boil jars, lids and rings. Put cucumbers, garlic, dill and 1 or 2 dill heads in each quart of pickles. Use two cups of the boiled salt water to 1 cup vinegar and pour on cucumbers, put the lids and rings on while still hot.
