If one of your resolutions is to eat more veggies, this Carrot, Apple and Turmeric Smoothie is for you. It's bright, beautiful and full of goodness.

My caramelized red onion chutney is thick, has a dark caramel colour and a sticky jam-like consistency. You can have it hot or cold, and it goes well with grilled cheese, soups, and even pizza!

Onion Chutney:
10 medium red onions
3 tbsp olive oil
4 bay leaves
1 tbsp mustard seeds or powder
2 tbsp ground black pepper
2/3 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
red wine
3 jars
  1. Peel and cut the onions into thin half-moon slices.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large heavy-bottom saucepan and add the onions, bay leaves, ground black pepper and salt.
